Accomplishments

It has been a honor to serve on the Clearlake City Council since 2021. This group of business and community leaders were not afraid to take on some of the hardest issues facing our city and make tangible gains. None of these successes our my own. They are the result of collaboration, debate, and a shared purposed of doing what’s best for our community.

Clearlake City Council 2020-2024

  • Signed agreements with Adventist Health and Marriott to begin development of Pearce Field, a much needed project for the city that has been languishing for decades.

  • Approved a financing deal when interest rates were at their lowest leveraging Measure V funds to do a massive batch of road projects, benefiting from scaled costs. By the end of 2024, Clearlake will have resurfaced more than 50 miles of roads, more than almost any city in California.

  • Slashed crime in the city. Clearlake was know as one of the most dangerous cities in California a decade ago, but thanks to determined policy and an ongoing, noble effort by our police force, our city is dramatically safer across almost every metric.

  • Hundreds of new, quality housing units built and planned. As Lake County has struggled to rebuild after multiple devastating fires, Clearlake has starting building. We’ve pushed back hard against raising impact fees, worked with the county to gain access to tax defaulted properties, and policies like the Homestead Program to encourage new single family homes have all made a substantial impact.

  • Formed an Ad Hoc committee to investigate the “at risk” infrastructure, astronomical rates, challenged fire coverage, and poor transparency across the city’s various water companies.

  • Built the city splash pad and invested in our Public Works Department, giving them the tools they need to turn Austin Park into the green jewel our city deserves.

  • Raised millions to acquire, plan, and build the Burns Valley Sports Complex. Not only will the new facilities promote the health and well being of all residents, but the new fields will allow the city to develop Redbud Park into a hospitality and entertainment hub.

  • Established a recreation department for the city, bringing events and activities to Austin Park for residents of all ages.

  • Reduced and removed fees for events organized by local businesses and organizations, ensuring the Clearlake Farmer’s Market can continue to operate and serve our community.
